Essex Wheels and Engineering's wheel business is based on extensive experience in building both new wheels and re-building old ones.
Existing wheels with can be provided with new hubs, spokes and rims as required. Using original hubs and drum brakes, we match the original spoke specification and lacing with modern replacements while still keeping the authentic looks required. As the spokes are made from blanks and cut to length, any size of wheel can be accomodated.
This custom service, backed with plenty of expert advice is primarily used by Classic Bike restorers and Harley and other custom bike owners.

The other half of the wheel building business is the production of new wheels for racing bikes and outfits. EWE produces new wheels to order for Speedway, Grasstrack and Supermoto bikes.

| The rims used by EWE come in different qualities depending on the purpose and finish that is required by the customer including Chrome, Alloy, British Chrome and Stainless.
EWE uses unpierced rims so that they can be pierced to suit the wheel.
Making in excess of 250 wheels per year means we have built up wealth of wheel building experience and knowledge.
