Having built his own chassis for racing, James increasingly found himself being asked to build chassis for other racers. To date he has built 23 sidecar outfits and 7 solo chassis with more in the pipeline.

With James having raced himself and working closely with Glenn Philips and the Harvey Hogg Team, EWE are able to produce the kind of chassis wanted by top grasstrack and speedway racers. Using good materials and its own design geometry JRE chassis are strong and light.

While most of the engineering undertaken by EWE, has a distinct bike focus, it also provides a solid engineering service to customers across the UK. Recent products include gun mountings for the MOD, bread rollers, specialised tools  and safety/guarding equipment.

Metal fabrication is undertaken using a range of manual machinery.  In addition, CNC milling and lathe machinery allows for precision engineering in the time scales required by the modern world.

MIG, TIC and MMA welding is undertaken of both aluminum and stainless steel.  Essex Wheels also provides a mobile welding service.
